Poultry
In Switzerland, 6.3 million hens are kept whereof one third are laying hens and two thirds fattening poultry. Domestic production covers close to 50 per cent of eggs and chicken consumed in Switzerland. Per year, Swiss people eat an average of 90 eggs and 11 kg poultry (apart from chicken also turkey, goose and duck).
